A Warehouse Gravity Flow Racking System is a storage solution designed to optimize the flow of goods within a warehouse or distribution center. This system operates on the principle of "first in, first out" (FIFO) and is particularly useful for managing perishable or time-sensitive products.
Gravity flow racks consist of inclined shelves with roller tracks or conveyor systems. Pallets or cartons are loaded onto the higher end of the rack, and they move by gravity to the lower end as new items are added. This promotes efficient stock rotation and minimizes the need for manual labor in restocking.
Key benefits of a Gravity Flow Racking System include improved inventory management, reduced picking times, and enhanced space utilization. It's often used in industries like food and beverage, manufacturing, and distribution where product freshness and efficient order fulfillment are critical.

The difference lies in the uprights: The main rack is the starter rack with 2 uprights, whereas the add-on rack is an extension rack with only 1 upright. For instance, 15 continuous racks consist of 1 main rack + 14 add-on racks.
